Hello fellow bloggers, I’m long overdue an update! There are many easter eggs in the works right now, which may or may not include adopting your own desktop cat for your blog ;)
So.. I failed seminary today. HAaaaaaaa.
Imagine seminary like a bible study group for high schoolers, except hardcore. 4 days a week, 6am each day. I love it. I’ll admit I have been struggling with it a bit this year … I think to me, the class used to mean waking up in the morning wondering who I would sit beside and what story I would come home with, now it means opening a laptop and trying to follow a lesson in a language I’m still learning. Online classes don’t quite hit the same, don’t they? However through a laptop and a language barrier, there’s still been lessons that made me cry behind the mic (in a good way). Our teacher puts real effort into helping us understand, so I’m going to do some makeup work to pass.
Group projects. A very touchy subject for those who have been through the high school experience of non-participating members. We didn’t hear from half of our group before our deadline, so in redemption of our group project, here’s our collage, thank you Omar and Xyrs!
I’m not one to preach, however I want to share a little message for tomorrow…
I think everyone could use a rest. We all have breaking points, and maybe you have already reached yours (I did last week). What if we pressed pause for just one day? Maybe from work, maybe from your studies that makes you want to pull your hair out, or anything that cause you stress. You might be surprised by how much difference one quiet day can make. Go for a walk, read a book, spend time with your family (so long as your family doesn’t cause you more stress lol), heck, bake a cake if that’s your forte. That’s all there really is to keeping the sabbath day holy. If you’re religious, attend your church, take the sacrament, and say thank you. To sum it up…
Make sunday the day you realize you are a human being and not a working machine.
So yes, I somewhat failed seminary. But this sunday I’m going to try not to fail at being a human being. Happy Saturday guys, you and I made it through the week!
